Who and Why

Buddy was the kind old man

With the house at the roundabout

He lived alone with his dog

And wore his heart on his sleeve.

His right arm was a canvas,

The storyboard of a lifetime.

They told him at sixteen,

“You’ll regret it when you’re older,

They’ll never wash away.”

Well, he wasn’t proud of them all,

Like the irreversible gang signs,

But his life was never regretful.

Because forever on him,

His late wife’s portrait,

His daughter’s name,

And his parent’s advice.

His friend who died young,

His teenage band,

And the family’s first dog.

He never regretted a thing,

So he wore his heart on his sleeve.

This is so good! I love your choice of words and how you used "wore his heart on his sleeve". I really enjoyed reading this :)
